    RBIR Based on Signature Graph

    This paper approaches the image retrieval system on the base of visual features local region RBIR (region-based image retrieval). First of all, the paper presents a method for extracting the interest points based on Harris-Laplace to create the feature region of the image. Next, in order to reduce the storage space and speed up query image, the paper builds the binary signature structure to describe the visual content of image. Based on the image's binary signature, the paper builds the SG (signature graph) to classify and store image's binary signatures. Since then, the paper builds the image retrieval algorithm on SG through the similar measure EMD (earth mover's distance) between the image's binary signatures. Last but not least, the paper gives an image retrieval model RBIR, experiments and assesses the image retrieval method on Corel image database over 10,000 images.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure

    Towards green growth in Vietnam: the case of marine capture fisheries

    The objective of this study is to assess sustainable development and the potential for green growth of the marine capture fisheries in Vietnam. We use “standard” bio-economic models with additional terms to correct some of ecosystem externalities and to define reference points for the fisheries. The results show that Vietnam’s marine capture fisheries are unsustainable and the fishing effort needs to be reduced about 0.35 and 0.39 of present effort in order to achieve the maximum sustainable yield and maximum economic yield, respectively. If ecosystem externalities are taken into account, the situation is even worse. The potential for green growth in the fisheries is estimated to be about 7.3 billion USD, higher than the export value for fisheries and aquaculture products in Vietnam in 2016. Green growth policies for the fisheries include public subsidies to environmentally friendly industries, reducing the “trash” fish catch and more efficient regulations more effectively enforced

    Architecture Parallel for the Renewable Energy System

    This chapter present one possible evolution is the parallel topology on the high-voltage bus for the renewable energy system. The system is not connected to a chain of photovoltaic (PV) modules and the different sources renewable. This evolution retains all the advantages of this system, while increasing the level of discretization of the Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT). So it is no longer a chain of PV modules that works at its MPPT but each PV module. In addition, this greater discretization allows a finer control and monitoring of operation and a faster detection of defects.     Facile synthesis and electrical characteristics of n-SnO2/p-NiO nanowire heterojunctions

    In the current work, we report a facile synthesis of n-SnO2/p-NiO nanowire heterojunctions by a drop-coating approach. The pure SnO2 and NiO nanowires (NWs) were grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and hydrothermal methods, respectively. Morphology, composition and crystal structures of the NWs and heterojunctions were investigated by means of field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively. The data showed that SnO2 NWs were grown with their average diameter of 200 nm and length of about 10 mm. The NiO NWs were also synthesized with a shorter average length and smaller average diameter compared to those of the SnO2 NWs. The EDS results indicated no impurity present in both SnO2 and NiO NWs. The XRD patterns pointed out the tetragonal rutile and cubic structures of SnO2 and NiO, respectively. Interestingly, electrical properties of the NWs and heterojunctions were studied through the Keithley 2602A sourcemeter-based I-V characterizations. The results confirm the nature of the metal semiconducting oxides. The formation of the n-SnO2/p-NiO heterojunctions was certified through the rectifying behavior of the I-V curves with the rectification ratio of about 5 at ± 3V and 350 oC. The potential energy barrier between the NWs was also estimated to be about 1.16 eV. The band energy structure was also proposed to get insight into characteristics of the n-SnO2/p-NiO heterojunction
